IRIDIUM 9505A -USA - the classic rugged 9505A - now made in USA!

This is the same phone as the previous 9505A, except that it manufactured in the USA, where as, the older dis-continued Iridium part number: 9505A was manufactured in Malayasia.

The only reason Govt or military units would want the 9505A USA version, is if they must use the Iridium satellite phone with a 'secure sleeve' for encrypted communications.

Iridium does not offer a secure solution, 'sleeve' for the new 9555..

Iridium World Data Services Using your computer and an Iridium satellite phone, you can connect to the Internet or a corporate network from virtually anywhere in the world, allowing you to browse the web, send and receive email and transfer files. You can configure your computer for two different types of data calls, depending on your needs: Dial-Up Data or Direct Internet Data. Now, Iridium Data Services can be run on a computer using the Windows XP Operating System as well as Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4.0 and 2000. Dial-Up Data Dial-Up Data Service provides dial-up connectivity from a PC, through your Iridium phone to another computer, a corporate network/LAN or an Internet Service Provider (ISP). This service offers a data rate of up to 2.4 Kbps. Direct Internet Data Direct Internet Data Service provides connectivity from a PC, through your Iridium phone, directly to the Internet through dedicated servers at the Iridium gateway. SOLIO MKIV

 The Solio charger incorporates high efficiency solar cells, a stylish yet durable rubberised, recyclable shell, a high capacity integrated lithium-ion battery and a variety of interchangeable tips.  The tips enable compatibility with current and future portable electronic devices including  Thuraya and Iridium satellite phones, mobile phones, PDA's, music players, digital cameras, GPS systems and games consoles. An IPOD adapter comes standard with the MK III Solio charger. (Whereas for the MK II Solio the adapter would have to be purchased separately.)

The fan blade design allows the Solio to achieve maximum solar area when in use.  It can either be exposed to direct sunlight out of doors, or affixed to a window, for example on a car or boat.

Exposing Solio to sunlight charges the internal battery, which can take 8-10 hours of direct sunlight.  With Solio fully charged, an average phone will charge in approximately 1-2 hours - as efficiently as a conventional charger.

The Solio charger can store energy for more than one year.
